Garbage Pickup Rules: Everything must be in your cans --anything placed next to your cans will not be picked up. Please be sure everything is in your cans for pickup until further notice.
Please remember that your Pets my possibly spread the Coronavirus to others. Keep your pets on a leash as per the law in the Village and keep your pet 6 feet from both humans and other pets.

Starting Thursday, April 1st 2021 through Thursday, October 28th 2021 Lakeshore will pick up yard waste and compost every Thursday.
The Village of Michiana is trying out a new service offered by Lakeshore Recycling, our current trash and recycle company.
You can use your own container for Yard waste must be set at the curb in either a 32 gallon tote marked “YARD WASTE” or BROWN paper yard waste bags ( a limit of 5 per week) or Lakeshore will provide one (1) tote, either 64 gallon or 96 gallon without lid for a rental fee of $3.00 per month (paid annually prior to cart delivery). The fee will be billed directly to the homeowner. The phone number to Lakeshore Recycle is 269-231-5623, if you would like to rent a tote from them.
Compost/yard waste include left over leaves, grass clippings and brush/plant trimmings, branches and twigs. Branches must be less than four (4) inches in diameter and less than three (3) feet long, bundled or twined.
Michiana employees will no longer pick up yard waste.
If you use a Lawn Service please make sure they remove all yard waste!!
For those with concerns about Septic Systems with homes that directly front the lake. The Berrien County Health department is actively monitoring our Village. At this time (02.10.2020) all homes along the lakefront shoreline are in compliance with the Health department. Mr. Nick Margaritis is our Environmental Health Manager with The Berrien County Health Department. His direct number is 269-927-5653. Please rely only on reliable sources like the Village Hall when reading information that might not be from a reliable source.
