The Village of Michiana's Village office will be CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC (walk-ins) due to the Covid-19 Virus until further notice. For questions about your water bill, building permits, etc. please call the office at 269-469-4600 during normal business hours 9AM-4PM EST Monday-Friday.

Garbage Pickup Rules: Everything must be in your cans -- anything placed next to your cans will not be picked up. Please be sure everything is in your cans for pickup until further notice.

Please remember that your Pets my possibly spread the Coronavirus to others. Keep your pets on a leash as per the law in the Village and keep your pet 6 feet from both humans and other pets.

All short term rentals in the Village of Michiana must be registered with the Village. See Rental registration on the tab to the left on the Village home page.

Fireworks Rules in Michigan, Ordinance 2019-03
Fireworks are legal only on the following days and times:
- December 31st 11:00 AM ET through January 1st 1:00 AM ET
11:00 AM ET - 11:45 PM ET on:
- The Saturday and Sunday immediately preceding Memorial Day
- June 29th through July 4th
- July 5th, IF the date is a Friday or Saturday
- The Saturday and Sunday immediately preceding Labor Day
Fines are $1,000 per occurrence.
Fireworks are NOT allowed on any public property like the beaches.
Please respect your neighbors.

Contractors must register to work in the Village
The annual fee is $50 and this applies to;
General Contractors
Sub Contractors
All others such as: Landscapors, roofers, plumbers, painters, electricians and othe forms of property maintenance. All log of all registered contractors is keep on file at the Village Hall.

Berrien County Health Department Monitoring
For those with concerns about Septic Systems with homes that directly front the lake. The Berrien County Health department is actively monitoring our Village. At this time (02.10.2020) all homes along the lakefront shoreline are in compliance with the Health department. Mr. Nick Margaritis is our Environmental Health Manager with The Berrien County Health Department. His direct number is 269-927-5653. Please rely only on reliable sources like the Village Hall when reading information that might not be from a reliable source.

Ordinance 2017-02, Revised 2019 due to space issues
All Watercraft placed in a Village of Michiana rack or left overnight on the beach requires a Village of Michiana Watercraft sticker. Stickers are available at the Village Hall. Watercraft permit fee: Residents $10.00 Non-Residents $20.00 only after July 5 and space permitting.
No beach chairs are allowed to be left on the beach overnight, or chained to Village property. They will be removed.
